Excellent with poultry, roasted veal, and hard or blue cheese. Fantastic with roasted poularde breast on wild herb risotto.
As a robust, late-ripening grape variety, Marsanne blanche (or Ermitage) is perfect for crafting unique sweet wines. The Ermitage has been dedicated to Nadia Mathier within the family. The label of this white wine features a heart as a symbol of our essence, the seat of the soul, and the central symbol of love and life. It was this very love that brought Nadia to Salgesch to join Diego in her youth, leading to the birth of five wonderful daughters. Nadia dedicates herself daily with passion, not only as a wife and mother but also warmly caring for the business and the well-being of visitors to our wine cellar.
As it matures, the bouquet becomes increasingly complex, developing aromas of white truffles. Fresh and intense on the palate, with a hint of citrus, it transitions into a long, elegant finish with a fine, tannin-rich note.
The alcoholic fermentation takes place during a nine-month maturation period in French oak barrels. The malolactic fermentation is only partially completed.
Cultivated in Sion on prime sites above the village of Lentine, on sun-drenched south-facing terraces with well-drained limestone soils.
