On February 4, 1001, Trasqua was mentioned officially for the first time. It refers to a land grant entrusted by Countess Ava, daughter of the Lombard Zenobi and widow of the nobleman Ildebrando, Lord of Staggia, to the emerging Benedictine monastery at the Church of Abbadia Isola.
Since then, the thread connecting "locum dicto Trasqua" to the present day has remained unbroken across "a thousand miles" of history. Despite a rocky path marked by wars, revolutions, expropriations, and transitions, this place has never lost its natural vocation for viticulture.
This wine features an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it reveals a rich bouquet of violets, red forest fruits, and refined vanilla notes. On the palate, it is pleasantly fresh and persistent, offering a well-balanced character with an elegant finish.
The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 26–28°C. The wine is released to the market only after aging for at least 24 months in 5,000-liter Slavonian oak barrels. It then matures for an additional 12 months in the bottle.
