In the 1980s, Guido Brivio launched his own wine line, collaborating closely with the renowned Gialdi winery, which was already specialized in grapes from the Sottoceneri region. Brivio wines focus on grape varieties from southern Ticino. In 2001, Brivio Vini SA merged into Gialdi Vini SA, which subsequently expanded its range to include wines from northern Ticino.
The wine shines in a vibrant coral pink. The bouquet is well-balanced, fresh, and fruity, with hints of wild strawberries. On the palate, it is refreshing and fruity, harmoniously structured, with a long and juicy finish.
After destemming the red Merlot grapes, a clear juice is extracted, followed by a gentle pressing process. The clear juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 18-20°C. To preserve the Gran Rosé's signature freshness, juicy acidity, and liveliness, malolactic fermentation is deliberately avoided.
