Johanniter is a fungus-resistant white grape variety resulting from the crossbreeding of Riesling and Freiburger.
Elias Bachmann initially trained as a carpenter. Today, he works at the Heidegg Winery and has immersed himself in the world of viticulture, acquiring the skills needed to cultivate his own vines. In 2019, he decided to expand the arable farming of his family business, now in its sixth generation, by introducing vineyards. With this young winemaking project, he aims to promote local products and contribute to the diversity of the Seetal region. The Bachmann family cultivates four grape varieties on 1.5 hectares, exclusively using fungus-resistant varieties to minimize the use of pesticides.
A bright, clear straw yellow in the glass. Fresh aromas of citrus and elderflower rise to the nose. The acidity is vibrant and elegantly integrated. The finish is harmonious and delicate.
Aged in stainless steel tanks.
Unlike the typical steep slopes, this vineyard is situated on flat terrain with moraine soils, which were once part of a branch of the Reuss Glacier. Thanks to changing climate conditions, high-quality grapes can now thrive in this area. The rows of vines are positioned to receive optimal sunlight from morning to evening.
