Culinary recommendation

A superb accompaniment to shellfish, fish, white meat and delicate game birds. Particularly delightful with pan-fried scallops with blood orange, duck breast with raspberry jus or salmon tartare with pink pepper.

Wine history
chevron-down

Louis Roederer was founded in Reims in 1776 and remains one of the few major Champagne houses that is still independently family-owned. Ever since Louis Roederer took over the reins in 1833, the house’s own vineyards have formed the foundation of the business. The Rosé Vintage embodies this focus on terroir particularly impressively: Pinot Noir from Cumières and Chardonnay from Chouilly are blended using the house’s own infusion method to create a vintage champagne of exceptional fruitiness, precision and elegance.

Tasting note
chevron-down

A delicate salmon pink with coppery highlights and a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, raspberry, wild strawberry and redcurrant combine with peach, blood orange and a hint of cocoa. On the palate, it is juicy and silky, yet fresh and chalky, with subtle spice and a long, salty-mineral finish.

Vinification
chevron-down

The Pinot Noir is gently fermented with Chardonnay must using the estate’s own infusion method, allowing the fruit, colour and structure to blend together in a particularly elegant manner. Following traditional bottle fermentation, the champagne matures on the lees for several years and then for a further several months after disgorgement.

Vineyards

The Pinot Noir comes from the sun-drenched Grand Cru vineyards of Cumières, whilst the Chardonnay grows on the chalky soils of Chouilly. The interplay of these two top vineyards lends the champagne its freshness, mineral intensity and exceptional finesse.
