The Unison

Ojo de Agua Cuvée Spéciale Bio

Wine of Origin
Here, five grape varieties don't talk over each other – they sing in unison. Malbec, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet France don't form a puzzle, but a single voice, loud and clear. No soloist, no extra: a soothing choir in the glass that shows that unity can be powerful rather than boring.

Culinary recommendation
chevron-down

An ideal partner for braised leg of lamb with rosemary, grilled beef fillet or a juicy asado. It also goes well with hearty pasta with ragù or mature Manchego cheese.

Wine history
chevron-down

Ojo de Agua has its roots on an estancia where racehorses once shone – today, Dieter Meier, Swiss musician and lateral thinker, shapes the image with wine. What he brought to the charts with Yello lives on here: rhythm, attitude, character. Biodynamic since the 90s in the Pampa Húmeda – wine, meat, nuts, honey as parts of a whole. The ‘winner spirit’ echoes, uncompromisingly real, in the glass as in the mind.

Tasting note
chevron-down

Deep dark ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, a complex interplay of aromas of ripe berries, plum and fine spice, accompanied by elegant roasted aromas. On the palate, the cuvée is opulent and juicy, with a powerful body, smooth tannins and a long, harmonious finish.

Vinification
chevron-down

Half of the wine is aged for 12 months in barriques, while the other half is aged in concrete tanks.

Vineyards
chevron-down

The vines thrive in Agrelo Alto, Mendoza, on sandy, mineral-rich soils and enjoy a continental climate with a large day-night temperature difference – perfect conditions for aromatic yet elegant and fresh Torrontés wines.
