This Pinot Blanc Chardonnay is very versatile – whether with fine starters, light dishes, fish or white meat. It also accompanies foie gras and warm and cold cheese dishes with style and balance.
‘Aagne’ means ‘unique’ in the local dialect – a term that reflects the essence of these wines: distinctive, full of character and deeply rooted in their origins.
The Schaffhausen Klettgau region lies sheltered in the rain shadow of the Black Forest, nestled in the eastern foothills of the Jura Mountains. Here, limestone-rich soils with loam and clay content and a mild, dry climate provide ideal conditions for winegrowing. The work is driven by a genuine enthusiasm for the vine – and a commitment to combining quality with attitude and provenance.
The Pinot Blanc Chardonnay presents itself on the nose with a delicate, restrained fruitiness – notes of apple and peach meet floral nuances, accompanied by elegant toasted aromas in the background. On the palate, the freshness and fullness of the two varieties combine to create a balanced interplay with subtle sophistication.
The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with partial malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged on its fine lees for 6 to 8 months, partly in barriques for 4 to 6 months. After careful filtration, it is bottled.
