Pinot Noir Maienfeld Barrique
Graubünden AOCRed wine
Pinot Noir
13.5%

16°C
Pairs excellently with tender saddle of venison, pink roasted lamb or beef fillet with a delicate herb crust. Also elegant with mushroom risotto or mature mountain cheese – a wine that does not accompany cuisine, but refines it.
In Maienfeld, surrounded by stone walls and fresh Alpine air, Markus and Karin Stäger cultivate four hectares of vines with their daughters Stefanie and Selina – supplemented by carefully selected grapes from the surrounding area. Pinot Noir and Riesling Sylvaner grow at altitudes of 520 to 600 metres, partly from vines that have been rooted for over 50 years. Fourteen characterful plots merge to create wines that reflect the climate, soil and the unmistakable signature of the family. Carefully cultivated, uncompromising in quality – typical Stäger.
Truly a dream of a Pinot that immediately impresses with its great charisma. The tannins appear gracefully formed, harmonious and seamless. On the palate, it unfolds with finesse and elegance, noble yet full of soul – a wine that lingers without imposing itself.
Half of the wine is aged in new and used barriques.
50-year-old vines (Swiss clone) and younger Burgundy clones in the best vineyards at 600 metres above sea level in the wine-growing municipality of Maienfeld.
