Until the 19th century, the Kaiserspan was part of the neighboring Schloss Heidegg. Its name originates from the "Kaiser’s Bann," a hunting reserve exclusively for the residents and guests of the castle. On August 28, 1851, the forest was cleared, laying the foundation for the Kaiserspan estate.
For many years, Kaiserspan was the only vineyard in central Switzerland. Viticulture was maintained until 1957. After a long hiatus, vines were replanted on the sunny slopes of Kaiserspan in 1990, initially covering 75 ares. Over time, the vineyard expanded and now spans 5 hectares. Nearly the entire area is certified as a biodiversity promotion area, featuring the highest biodiversity quality (Qll).
This wine impresses with its elegant character and the lively freshness typical of the grape variety. Its fruity bouquet delights the palate, offering a smooth and refined experience.
This wine matures in stainless steel tanks.
The vineyard is situated on a terminal moraine above the picturesque Lake Baldegg in the district of Gelfingen, which is part of the municipality of Hitzkirch.
