‘Aagne’ means ‘own’ in dialect – and this is precisely what is reflected in the character of the wines: distinctive, authentic and firmly rooted in their origins.
The Schaffhausen Klettgau region lies in the wind-protected rain shadow of the Black Forest and nestles against the eastern foothills of the Jura mountains. The mild, dry climate and calcareous soils with loam and clay content offer ideal conditions for wines full of character. The focus is on a passion for the vine – and the commitment to creating quality with integrity.
The Sauvignon Blanc shines in a delicate yellow with greenish reflections. The nose reveals intense, complex aromas: exotic fruits such as grapefruit, gooseberry and a hint of lychee meet fine elderberry notes and subtle green hints. On the palate, it is round and aromatic, with lively, refreshing acidity.
The Sauvignon Blanc is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, deliberately avoiding malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged on its fine lees for 5 to 7 months, which gives it additional finesse. After careful filtration, the wine is bottled.
