This Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect summer companion: with fresh salads with delicate ingredients, fish and seafood or simply with fine goat's cheese. Its lively freshness makes even light dishes an experience – a wine that brings sunshine and lightness directly to the plate.
Eikendal Vineyards has been Swiss-owned since 1981 – the Saager family from Zurich recognised early on the potential of the location in the “Golden Triangle” between Somerset West and Stellenbosch. 76 hectares, characterised by False Bay breezes, Atlantic coolness and distinctive soils, produce grapes full of energy. Here, precise viticulture meets a terroir that confidently goes its own way. The focus is on fruit, structure and elegance, preserved in the cellar with a delicate touch. The result is wines with international appeal that show that origin and modernity are not mutually exclusive – they complement each other in the glass.
The Sauvignon Blanc sparkles in the glass with a bright yellow colour and delicate green reflections. The nose reveals a complex interplay of tropical fruits, green apple, stone fruit, elderflower and ripe grapefruit, accompanied by melon and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, crisp acidity, fresh elegance and full texture – lively, animated and unmistakable.
The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks.
At the foot of the Helderberg, characterised by mineral-rich soils and the fresh breeze of the Atlantic, this Sauvignon Blanc finds its ideal terroir – a combination of power and coolness that gives it precision and character.
