A wine that pairs exceptionally well with main courses, especially red meat and game, as well as cheese.
The "Tenimento dell’Ör" is a historic winery dating back to 1700, located in Arzo, a charming hilltop village in the municipality of Mendrisio. The estate lies at the foot of Monte San Giorgio, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its significant fossil and archaeological discoveries. Over the years, the vineyard has been entirely renewed with the planting of 28 different grape varieties.
A deep ruby red with delicate violet highlights. Intense and refined, featuring notes of dark berries. The blend of grape varieties exhibits excellent harmony, with a subtle dominance of Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate, the wine is balanced and elegant, with soft yet noticeable tannins supported by a pleasant acidity.
The four grape varieties are harvested and processed separately. The wine then matures for 20 months in French barriques, 35% of which are new, while the remainder is aged in second- and third-use barrels.
The vineyard is situated at an altitude of 460 to 520 meters above sea level, covering a total area of 11 hectares, 8 of which are planted with vines. Its ideal southern exposure, characterized by abundant sunshine and refreshing breezes, makes it a prime location for viticulture.
