A red wine that pairs excellently with dishes featuring red meat, well-seasoned cuisine in general, and robust cheeses.
The Heinrich winery in Burgenland is dedicated to crafting wines that genuinely reflect their origin and the essence of their surroundings. Since 2006, they have focused on nurturing vibrant soils and maintaining a balanced, biodynamic ecosystem. The emphasis lies on harmony between nature and time: minimal intervention in the cellar allows the wines to ferment naturally, mature on their lees in used wooden barrels, and develop their unique character. The goal is to produce authentic and profound wines that bring nature's diversity to life.
A bouquet of lingonberries and wild blackberries, complemented by earthy and roasted notes reminiscent of beets and juniper berries. On the palate, the wine is delicate, subtle, and smooth.
The grapes are hand-picked in mid-September. Fermentation occurs spontaneously, with the wine spending three weeks on the skins in both wooden fermentation vats and stainless steel tanks. It is then gently pressed using a basket press and aged for 25 months in wooden fermentation vats and used 500-liter oak barrels.
The grapes for this wine are sourced from both sides of Lake Neusiedl. On one hand, they come from the Rosenberg site, an east-facing slope in Breitenbrunn at the Leitha Mountains, characterized by mica schist. On the other hand, they are harvested from vineyards on the gravelly Parndorf Plateau and the humus-rich soils of the Heideboden to the east of the lake.
