‘The Witches' Tower’ – inspired by the ancient legends of Sion, where magic and history have intertwined for centuries. As the last witness to times gone by, the tower still carries the whispers of those nights when witches gathered there. In the Cave de l'Hospice de Salquenen, Diego Mathier revives this spirit: wines of clarity and power, full of depth, energy and quiet mysticism. They reflect the Valais terroir in its purest form – where craftsmanship, passion and history merge into new magic.
Dark ruby with purple glints. On the nose: black cherry, a hint of cassis and earthy spice. Powerful and concentrated on the palate, with fine-grained tannins, subtle smoke and a mineral backbone – a red wine from Valais with presence and depth.
The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks.
The vines thrive on calcareous moraine terraces in the region around Siders (Sierre) – a terroir characterised by warmth, minerality and alpine origins.
